Mat has led major national and international initiatives, including overseeing the delivery of all Volleyball events at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In these complex environments, he has demonstrated a remarkable capacity to bring together groups with diverse interests and objectives to achieve shared success. Through these experiences, Mat brings the strategic vision, operational discipline, and values-driven leadership that will take the AMT forward. Mat previously served as AMT Deputy CEO between 2018 and 2021.
Following 10 years in a Canberra-based Chartered Accounting firm, David spent some 20 years as a senior executive holding positions over time of CFO, COO, CEO and Company Secretary, most recently in the Planning Institute of Australia (a large professional association) and prior to that the same roles in Greening Australia (a very large NFP environmental organisation). David’ strong emphasis on staff & board culture underpinned significant success in both CEO roles. Developing and communicating clear long-term strategies and implementing those with a highly agile and innovative team delivered impact and growth. For 20 years David has worked with, for and on Boards and has a deep understanding and appreciation of the Board’s role, particularly in relation to culture, strategy, risk & opportunity. David is a highly regarded governance practitioner combining his executive board work with Non-Executive Director roles in a NFP Registered Training Organisation and a community-based sporting body.
Mark has worked in leadership roles at multiple not-for-profit sporting organisations for 5 + years and has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management.
In his most recent role, Mark led the Participation and Game Development department at Capital Football, managing local competitions, developing strategy, and engaging with key stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
Ben has a strong background in both the government and not-for-profit sectors for over 15 years, and has tertiary qualifications in law and sports management. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a passion for good governance, structure and policy. A keen student of organisational health, Ben enjoys collaborating with peers on strategic objectives to drive innovation and excellence in delivery.
He also has a keen interest in sports governance and administration, having held senior local, state and international roles across a variety of sports including touch football, football, softball and hockey.
Laura has diverse professional in a range of environments including the not-for-profit sector, business, and government. In her most recent role she led the People and Culture function at Canberra ag-tech startup company Goterra.
Laura is a purpose-driven leader and is passionate about working with people to solve problems and drive change.
