Maths Enrichment

Maths Enrichment

Date

Monday 31 March to Friday 17 October 2025

Time

 12–16 weeks

Cost

AUD $55.20 per student

Maths Enrichment is an extension program for talented students to widen their mathematical knowledge and skills.

Teachers receive comprehensive printed support material to extend both student learning and their own mathematical teaching practice. Enrichment material develops mathematical concepts not covered by the standard curriculum. Printed materials can be retained by students as an enduring reference through their school years.

Teacher sets include:

  • a Teacher Guide with full problem solutions and detailed marking schemes
  • one Student Problems booklet per student with unique problems each year
  • one Student Notes book per student with a structured course of extension material.

Maths Enrichment is designed to be run over 12–16 weeks, with around 1 hour of class time and around 2–3 hours of individual study time per week.

Like all our competitions and programs, Maths Enrichment contains unique problems designed each year by leading educators and academics to challenge and extend your students’ problem-solving skills.

Key Dates

  • Entries close:
    Friday 25 July 2025
  • Submission of student solutions (if marked by AMT) closes:
    Friday 26 September 2025
  • Submission of Enrichment Results Spreadsheet closes:
    Friday 17 October 2025
  • Late submission of Enrichment Results Spreadsheet closes:
    Friday 14 November 2025

*Results Spreadsheets received after the submission deadline may not be included in the cut-off scoring which may disadvantage some students.  Results will be processed after the late submission deadline.

*Results and adjustments received after Friday 14 November will not be processed

Divisions

  • Stages are not limited to school years, however general recommendations are as follows:

    Ramanujan – Australian Years 4 and 5

    Newton – Australian Years 5 and 6

    Dirichlet – Australian Years 6 and 7

    Euler – Australian Years 7 and 8

Gauss– Australian Years 8 and 9

Noether – Capable or very capable Australian Years 9 and 10

    Pólya – Top 10% Australian Year 10

Question and Answer Format

  • Ramanujan, Newton, Dirichlet – 8 problems, written answers
  • Euler – 10  problems, written answers
  • Gauss – 12 problems, written answers
  • Noether, Pólya – 16 problems, written answers

Delivery Option

  • Printed problems provided, marking is done by teacher and marks submitted online
  • The experience of teachers using this program has been that students’ understanding of the problems is enhanced when teachers mark the student submissions and use the materials provided to give feedback.
